Summer lovin’, having a blaaaaaaast…
Hello, hello, hello! And welcome back to my faves.
It feels bloody ages since I last wrote a favourites post (April!!) but, to be honest, I haven’t had all that much to share. However, I’ve amassed a little collection of things now, so I’m gonna share. For the first time ever, I’m gonna put these all into little categories (cute) so hopefully it shall be easier to read. Anyway, shall we get on with it then?
I recently talked about my current skincare faves in a review which ya can read here. However, I felt like they needed another lil mention because *hello* they are cruelty free AND affordable AND vegan and essentially just the best thing I’ve ever come across. So yeah, I’m loving these bits from nspa, and if ya want more detail then ya can read my full review.
And, as always, I’m loving my Holy Grail Essentialle oil! The lovely team kindly sent me another when they saw that I was down on social media, and I’m so grateful!
Okay, so I was actually lucky enough to win some pairs of lashes from Ardell beauty and their collaboration with Really Ree! I’ll be honest, in their packaging, they look a bit weird. But this is because they actually only go on the outer portion of your eye. I was unsure at first, but when I gave them a go, omg they are so good! They give you the look of wispies that I absolutely love, but because they only cover a portion of your eye, they’re super comfortable to wear all day! You honestly cannot even feel them, so they’re perfect for people that don’t like wearing falsies due to comfort, or for every day wear!
I’m also a massive fan of the W7 Banana powder that I picked up recently. I was surprised by it actually, I really like the formula and it’s perfect for baking under your eyes with! It came with a brush in the set too which is super soft and perfect for wiping away any excess powder; I am a fan.
Ehhhh… something a bit different!
As summer has rolled around, I have found myself listening to more and more relaxed music. And that leads me on to my first musical fave..
I’ll be honest, I’m *a bit* lazy when it comes to creating playlists, so I much prefer listening to pre-made ones. This one is added to every Friday and I bloody love it! It’s the perfect mix of current favourites and throwbacks and it has helped me to remember some of the songs that I once loved but had forgotten!
This is the lovely Anne-Marie’s first ever album, but you would never guess! I find her so refreshing and she’s just so candid and open in her music, I am a big fan! Plus she’s fabby live too, love her.
Jess and Gabe are the most adorable youtube couple, and their vlogs constantly make me wanna move to LA. I’ve also been questioning my religious beliefs a lot lately, and this album full of worship songs has been really uplifting to me. It’s perfect for putting on in the car for a super chilled journey.
House & Home
Okay, so I’ve heard soooooo many people talk about Zoflora, but I’ve never tried it before! So when I saw a bottle in B&M, I just had to give it a go. And, let me tell you, it smells a-maz-ing.
I opted for linen fresh because I knew that I wanted to use it in the washing machine, and I love it! 2 capfuls instead of fabric softener leaves clothes smelling incredible, and it lasts a while too! I’ve also been using it to clean the toilet and sinks with, as well as trying it out in a reed diffuser. It’s good for everything, I am obsessed.
Well, I have been obsessed with Desperate Housewives ever since Now TV added it, obviously, but I have also been watching a few other shows recently.
Zack and I binge watched Good Girls on Netflix the night before he left and we both really enjoyed it! It’s a perfectly easy watch and I already cannot wait for next season, reminded me a bit of a mix between Big Little Lies and Desperate Housewives.
Queer Eye has been another favourite! It’s one of those shows that you just cannot stop watching, and it’s definitely made me tear up a few times.
And, hallelujah, You Me Her season 3 is FINALLY on Netflix and I couldn’t be happier! I find this show really intriguing and entertaining, and it’s one of those shows that’s perfect to have on in the background when you’re blogging/essay writing.
Eh, this category is a bit different, isn’t it?! But, yeah, I’ve been loving some apps recently so I thought I’d share.
‘Cos I’m being all healthy and that, I’ve been loving My Fitness Pal by Under Armour. I love that you can scan a barcode to add your food instead of having to manually search it because I am still very lazy, even with my lifestyle change. I also did a bit of an experiment and tried to submit a day with under 1,000 calories (too little) and it told me off and refused to give me a weight loss prediction which I am a fan of, yay.
Another app that’s been a literal life saver is RTF (standing for Reverse, Turn, Flip I believe). If you’ve tried to edit a video for IGTV on iMovie then you may have experienced a bit of trouble because it’s not optimised for portrait video. I think this should’ve been thought out by instagram beforehand and that they should’ve included their own video editing platform (for basics) when they rolled out IGTV, but that’s a rant that I won’t go into. Anyway, after a cheeky google, I found that the trick is to actually edit your vid sideways (yes, really) and then turn afterwards, which is where RTF comes in. It’s a bit basic but it works and that’s all I can ask for!
I’ve also become a bit obsessed with making Pinterest graphics for my blog posts on canva, so I guess that they should both get a mention too.
I think that’s about it for now!
What have you been loving this summer? Lemme know in the comments.
