Big, Bouncy Blow Dry: CurlME Review

Hello, hello, hello!

So, recently I was sent a brush set from Pro Blo. This set is the CurlME set, and it retails for £35. I was sent this set in exchange for a YouTube video, but I’ve decided to write a review on here to accompany the video!

Ok, so if you know me very well, you will know that I often don’t bother to do anything with my hair. I don’t even dry it, I let it naturally dry. The simple reason for this is that I am essentially rubbish at doing anything with my hair. My mother’s a hairdresser so I always let her do my hair growing up, and it wasn’t until I moved to university that I realised just how helpless I am when it comes to styling. Because of this reason, I didn’t have high hopes for this set, or my ability to use it anyway.

But, I am happy to say, I was completely wrong.

The set includes:

  • 1 Brush Handle
  • 6 Brush Barrels (2 large, 2 medium, 2 small)
  • 6 Clips
  • 1 How To/Safety leaflet
  • 1 Travel Bag

Another initial concern that I had after realising what came in the set, was that 6 barrels would not be enough to my whole head, I was wrong about that too. For reference, I have medium length, thin hair. However, if you do need more barrels, you can order various different sets, and you can even order individual barrels if, for example, there is one barrel size in particular that you are keen on.

In terms of value, I think this set is pretty good. I mean, obviously it depends how often you will use it, but in terms of what you get for the price, I think it’s definitely justified.

I’m not going to go into much detail about how to use the set in this post, as this is included in the video tutorial! But, the idea is basically that you blowdry a section your hair with one of the brush barrels attached to the handle, then you wind it into your hair, release the handle and clip it in, like a roller! You then leave this in your hair until it is completely cool, I leave mine for about 15 minutes. You can watch the full video tutorial of how to use the set HERE.

My hair is pretty hard to curl, I’ll be honest about that. Hairdressers have tried, and failed, to give me curly blow drys, even big curls with a large tong/curling wand, but my hair is tight curls or nothing, and I’d just sort of expected that. Never, in a million years, did I expect to love the results that this set gives me so much!

It’s easy to do, takes me around 25-30 minutes, lasts me three days and gives me salon quality curls that make me feel like a princess, what’s not to like?! Plus, the whole colour scheme of the sets is so on trend, I love the black and pink ombre!

This set has quickly become my ONLY hair care routine! I cannot stop using it, and my technique is improving with every use. I am honestly baffled, I’ve even tried it out on my mother’s hair and she loved it too!

If I could put into words how confident this new-do makes me feel, I would. However, my vocabulary simply isn’t good enough for that, so let the pictures in this post speak for themselves!

So there we have it. An affordable product that’s easy to use and gives a salon quality, oh-so-in-trend, curly blow dry. I think this is it, I think my life is complete.

Have you ever heard of Pro Blo? What’s your favourite hair style at the moment? Would you use a set like this? Let me know in the comments!

Love,

H x

  1. Ever since I saw your Instagram post about this product, I’ve been dying to read your review! I’m very similar to you in that I just don’t bother with hair – I have shoulder-length very thick hair which also rarely holds a curl, but I’d absolutely love to try this out as it worked so well for you! Your hair really does look salon perfect and you’re slaying in your photos as always! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

  2. I agree with you – I do hardly anything with my hair! It goes down past my waist and it’s ridiculously thick so there’s no way I have the time or energy to do anything with it! 😀 This looks so good though. I have a curling wand and I’ve used it once, mainly because I can’t do it myself with so much hair! This looks so much easier though so I might have to give it a go!
