5 World Issues I’d Love To Change

Hi there!

Funnily enough, I’m actually writing this post in the car (I’m not driving) and I’m writing it simply because this journey has made me realise just how many things I hate about the world that I want to change. So here’s a few..

1. The Consumption Of Meat

I’ve been vegetarian for almost 3 years now and, whilst controversial, I just can’t stand the thought of all the sheep and cows and chickens and every other animal people so easily consume being killed. Fair enough, in the cave men days, we needed to eat meat and hunt animals, I completely understand that. But now, we have so so so many alternatives that a meat free diet is possible, and even easy! There’s nothing that breaks my heart more than seeing the animals in crates on lorries on their way to the slaughter house, I just wanna set them all free!

2. Feminism

I’m a feminist, I will happily say that. And no, that doesn’t mean that I think girls and women are better than boys and men or anything else, I simply believe the genders should be equal in every community, country and culture. They should get the same chances of education, same pay, same options and same quality of life, also let’s stop branding feminists as men haters please.

In this section, I’d also like to include forced marriages. Some young women as young as 10 get forced into marriage every single day, where they will have likely to have been pregnant and miscarried by the age of 12 simply because their tiny bodies aren’t ready yet, I can’t believe this is still a problem in this century but there’s so many charities and organisations aiming to help this, I’m gonna leave some links at the bottom!

3. Racism

Big factor for me, and very current. Racism is just disgusting, there’s no other way to put it, and it should just stop immediately.

4. Violence/War/The Killing Of Innocent People/ Terrorism

Also very current, this is possibly one of the most debated about issues of the last few years. The fact is, this world is becoming so scary because so many humans seem to have lost their humanity, and it terrifies me so much.

5. Poverty

I thought long and hard about what to call this section but poverty just about covers it. I want to end hunger and dehydration, I want equal opportunities for all children no matter where they were born or who to, and I want people to help each other out a bit more. It’s so easy to forget that there are people starving to death every day in other countries when we say we are ‘starving’ (because we haven’t eaten in a few hours). This just needs solving, please.

A bit more serious and controversial than I usually opt for, but these are the things I would change about the world if I could. Thanks for reading,

H

  1. I totally agree with your thoughts on feminism – it’s such a shame that now feminism has become a dirty word and people assume that all feminists are bra-burning man haters! That couldn’t be further from the truth – it’s all about EQUALITY! 🙌🏼 Thank you for sharing this!

  2. It’s hard because I know so many people who are unintentionally racist every day without meaning to be nasty or hurt anyone! I think as a nation English people need to learn to filter what they say a bit more and be a bit more kind, even when they don’t believe what they’re saying is wrong! We are getting the blame which is hurtful but some of us actually are to blame in what we say, often unintentionally! It’s being thrown around and I do think it’s wrong that it is used so liberally, I also think it’s important to acknowledge that sometimes people are racist towards white people too! Thanks for your long comment love, really appreciate it! Going to check out your blog now xx

  3. These are all important things! I feel in my opinion forced marriages is not good especially when girls can be so young! I know people have religious beliefts but this just isn’t a belief of mine! Racism is unacceptable but now white people are being called racised about their views of what they want in their country. White english people are being called racists agaisnt people coming into the country. However, one of my polish neighbours pulled out a knife on a black person and called him the n word. Like why do you think white people are wanting a say this about people because we are getting the blame? Racist is being thrown around to everyone. What do you think about this?
